Dog Training courses
It is each dog owners responsibility to ensure the safety of their dog by keeping all vaccinations up to date.
Try to encourage your dog to toilet before commencing training. If your dog does toilet in the hall or grounds outside it must be cleared up & disposed of by owners.
Please do not bring your dog if it is unwell.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times unless otherwise instructed by a trainer.
Dogs who are in season are unable to attend the course. If your dog is due in season and you do not wish to risk losing the cost of lessons you may miss during a course, please wait and book the next course as refunds are not available for weeks you cannot attend. If a dog comes into Season before your course starts we will offer you a place on another course. You are not able to switch between
courses at any time.
Trainers of Progress Dog Training & owners of all training venues accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property or injuries to any person or their dogs whilst on any premises.
Progress Dog Training reserves the right to exclude or offer alternative training to any dog owner if we consider it to be in their dogs’ best interests or to ensure the safety of others.
Please consider your own health and safety and wear suitable shoes and clothing for training dogs.
Course Fees are non-refundable in any event.
Payment must be made in full when booking your course.
Booking a course constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions which remain valid for any current or future courses attended by dog owners.
Individual Behaviour / Training Plans
Individual Behaviour plans are usually arranged over a 6 month period. (Training plans can be held over 3 months) The first appointment constitutes the start date of the plan.
6 months individual plans must be completed within 8 months of the start date. 3 month plans to be completed within 4 months.
If a client cancels an appointment last minute we will usually accommodate this and re-book – we understand that sometimes situations can change suddenly. However, if future appointments are also cancelled with less than 7 days notice, you may lose that appointment time in your plan.
Payment for individual training plans must be made by, or at the first appointment in full to receive the discounted price . This enables time to be spent working on the best training schedule for clients over the coming months.
Any unused appointments after the plans expiry date will no longer be available. Individual training plans are not productive if they keep stopping and starting with large gaps in between appointments. Clients who feel they cannot commit to a regular training plan should wait until they feel they can before booking.
Progress Dog Training is a recognised Laser Learning Awards Centre No: 60788
This means that our courses are subject to internal and external verification procedures and that we have policies in place to ensure that learners can have confidence in the level of training we provide. These policies include, but are not limited to a complaints procedure and a malpractice procedure. Should a learner have cause to require details of these policies, they will be made available to you.
Payment for a course is required upon booking. Course places are not confirmed until full payment has been received and acknowledged by Progress Dog Training. All course fees must be paid in full before the start date of the course.
Course fees cover tuition, tuition materials and one certificate upon successful completion of your course. They do not cover accommodation, food, travel expenses or any other expense you may incure to complete or attend the course. Distance learning courses include the cost of postage of material to you in mainland UK only. Cost for postage to other areas, including overseas can be quoted upon request.
If a learner cancels a Career Course more than 14 days before the start date, they shall be entitled to a full refund. If less than 14 days notice of cancellation is given, the learner shall be entitled to a 50% refund of fees already paid. In the unlikely event that a course is cancelled by Progress Dog Training, the learner will receive a full refund of fees already paid. There are no refunds available on Distance Learning Courses once materials have been despatched.
Most accredited courses require learners to submit assignments after they have attended the practical course. This ensures each learner completes the required level of study hours the course required. Assignments may be submitted by email and feedback will be provided by the trainer. Upon successful completion of all assignments, learners work will be submitted for verification, after which time, a certificate will be requested from Laser Learning Awards which will be forwarded in the post. There is no time limit for submitting assignments, however, you should aim to do so within 2 years to ensure that course material remains up to date. Progress Dog Training reserves the right to charge any additional expenses incurred should assignments be submitted more than 2 years after the course start date.
All assignments submitted must be the work of the learner and by enrolling on the course you agree that you will not submit work completed by any other person as your own. All assignments must be submitted by email. Feedback will be provided by email.
If you do not wish to submit assignments for a tutor led course you can choose to attend the practical part of the course only and a certificate of attendance from Progress Dog Training will be issued. In this case, you will not be party to the policies which form part of the accreditation procedures.
Some courses we offer are one day sessions and some courses are outsourced to external providers. These courses are not accredited by Laser Learning Awards (unless clearly stated in the course title).
Booking a course constitutes acceptance of Progress Dog Trainings terms and conditions and the policies and procedures for accredited courses.
